Tuberculosis (TB) is a major problem. This course will provide an overview of knowledge concerning diagnosis and drug susceptibility testing, facilitating the more rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis and the identification of drug resistance. The diagnosis of tuberculosis is based on the detection of TB bacilli. New methods based on nucleic acid amplification should be considered, in addition to the classical methods currently used. This course will provide information about the genetic and metabolic bases of commercial tests for detection, identification and drug susceptibility testing. This knowledge is important, as it makes it possible to evaluate the various tests used in laboratories working in different settings. This international training workshop is organized by the network of the Pasteur Institutes, the Shanghai CDC, and the Fudan University. It will be held at the Shanghai CDC.

Du 18 au 29 avril 2005 COURS D'OUTILS MOLECULAIRES ET EPIDEMIOLOGIE DE LA TUBERCULOSE.

Ce cours, organisé par le Centre National de Référence des Mycobactéries de l'Institut Pasteur et dispensé en langue anglaise, s'adresse aux bactériologistes souhaitant développer une activité de typage moléculaire appliquée à l'épidémiologie de la tuberculose.
L'utilisation de plus en plus large des outils moléculaires dans l'épidémiologie de la tuberculose rend nécessaire la maîtrise de ces outils et la connaissance de leur application en épidémiologie de la tuberculose.
Une bonne connaissance de la mycobactériologie et des bases en épidémiologie sont requises.
Cette formation associe conférences et travaux pratiques centrés sur l'utilisation des outils moléculaires appliqués à l'épidémiologie de la tuberculose. Les travaux pratiques portent sur les différentes techniques de typage moléculaire et sur l'analyse critique de leur utilisation dans les enquêtes épidémiologiques : épidémies de tuberculose hospitalière, tuberculose multirésistante, surveillance nationale et européenne de la tuberculose.
A l'issue de ce cours sera délivré un diplôme de l'Institut Pasteur. Cet enseignement, dispensé en convention avec les Universités Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) et Denis Diderot (Paris 7), peut aboutir à la délivrance d'un Diplôme Interuniversitaire.

Du 4 au 24 avril 2004, COURS DE MYCOBACTÉRIOLOGIE MÉDICALE

L'Institut Pasteur d'Algérie organise un Cours de Mycobactériologie Médicale et de Formation aux techniques de mycobactériologie. Le cours est soutenu par l'Institut Pasteur de Paris, Direction des Affaires Internationales, par l'OMS et par l'Union .L'enseignement durera trois semaines du 4 au 24 avril 2004 et comprendra des conférences et des travaux pratiques . Il apportera aux participants les connaissances nécessaires pour diagnostiquer, traiter et prévenir les maladies à mycobactéries les plus prévalentes comme la tuberculose et la lèpre. L'enseignement comprendra en outre les aspects organisationnels et de gestion d'un réseau de laboratoire pour le dépistage des cas contagieux dans le cadre d'un programme national de lutte. Les séances de travaux pratiques permettront l'acquisition des techniques de diagnostic, de contrôle le traitement et de surveillance épidémiologique des infections à mycobactéries.
Le cours est ouvert aux médecins, pharmaciens, vétérinaires et scientifiques biologistes exerçant dans un laboratoire de bactériologie. Il s'adresse plus particulièrement aux responsables de Laboratoires Nationaux de Référence pour la tuberculose en vue de leur permettre d'acquérir les connaissances et les compétences nécessaires à la mise en oeuvre des programmes de lutte contre la tuberculose et de coopérer aux programmes internationaux.
L'enseignement est assuré en français, mais la connaissance de l'anglais est souhaitée.
Le nombre de places disponibles est de 16.
Les frais d'inscriptions sont de 600 Euros, payables au compte bancaire de l'Institut Pasteur d'Algérie.
